In my last couple of jobs it would get to this time in the year and we'd spend the rest of the year in planning mode. But I'd also use this time to do a bit of housekeeping of my existing content.

Now is a great time to review your existing body of content and make any important updates so it remains accurate and relevant in the new year. For example:

  • Update time-specific content (e.g. top marketing automation software for 2025 will look like an out-of-date list in January)
  • Check over your most valuable product related content and update to add new features or functionality that have been added since you published
  • Review customer case studies, remove ones you no longer have permission to use, or update to add new data or quotes based on their current experience with your product.
