Congratulations on making it through the first full working week of the year!

I took some time off between Christmas and New Year and it gave me time to think a bit more about this community. It made me realise that when I took over in July I made a mistake and focused in on the wrong things.

When I took the reins my initial priority was to make sure everything kept working. The website, the newsletter, the Slack community - I wanted to be sure nothing fell over even as I dismantled and rebuilt the website. But in hindsight I wish I'd started differently, by getting to know the people in the community - like all you lovely folk reading this newsletter.

So better late than never, I wanted to start this year by trying something new. I've opened up a few short slots in my calendar every Monday morning. Feel free to book some time in with me - I'd love to hear what you want from this community, if there's anything I can help you with, or just to say hi. Hopefully I'll chat to some of you soon.
