Now that AI can produce competent content in seconds, it leaves us with an interesting problem: if everyone can produce “good” content, what makes yours worth paying attention to?

It's got to be your point of view. Lessons you've learned, things you disagree with, patterns you've noticed, opinions you've formed after working with 100 customers or making a massive mistake (hopefully only once).

A client passed me an AI draft for a piece of content last week, and it was missing all of that. There was nothing in it that would make the reader go "hey, these guys actually know what they're talking about". It was fine, but wouldn't really make anyone stop scrolling for a minute.

AI can help with a lot of things. But it hasn't been doing your job for the past 2 / 5 / 10 years. Don't lose sight of that.

Coach, writer and ContentUK friend Geoff Poulton is launching Experimental: a beta group for self-employed people who'd rather test than plan

Plans can be safe – and that's often the problem. This three-month beta programme is for freelancers willing to experiment: design a specific, time-bound test each session (not "be more disciplined" – think "first 30 minutes of every workday on the task I keep avoiding, for two weeks"), then report back fortnightly on what happened, including what didn't. There'll be some group coaching, a chat for check-ins between sessions, and accountability that goes beyond just yourself.

It's six sessions, Oct–Dec, Tuesday afternoons. Capped at 5 people, currently three spots left. £120 total.
