Many moons ago I worked at an agency and one of my clients was... a nightmare.

They wanted ✨perfection✨ from every piece we worked on. We'd pitch ideas, go back and forth for weeks just to get something approved to work on, so nothing got published.

Articles would get stuck in countless rounds of revisions, with everyone from the CEO down, so nothing got published.

When we delivered something they actually loved... they then needed to create the perfect, every-last-detail promotion plan to go with it, so nothing got published.

And every month I'd hop on a call to talk reporting. Keyword rankings, web traffic, all that good stuff. And do you know what happened? Nothing.

That taught me two important lessons.

1) Something is better than nothing.

And 2) Stop getting in your own way.

I still get nervous every time I write a newsletter like this, or host a meetup, or pitch a new client, but keeping those lessons in mind helps me actually do the thing.
